If you haven’t been thinking about video editing much, there might be some revelations for you on this page.
I’d like you to think of video editing as a part of your branding efforts and a way to add a new layer to your messaging. It is a magnificent opportunity to show your brand values, showcase your tone and unique client experience, as well as to give a taster of how it will feel to be served in a way only you can provide.
Oh, the possibilities!
You have a huge array of possibilities to use video in your materials.
It might be an integral part of your homepage to welcome people into your world or a warm way to greet people on your about me page.
Maybe it’s a way to tell more in a short time and captivate people's attention on your sales page or a welcome note on a thank you/purchase confirmation page. Most of us use videos in our workshops, courses, challenges, and memberships. All those can be made even more informative and supportive with the right kind of editing.
The right editing might be a hidden potential yet right at your reach!! It will enable you to:
- emphasize your branding in oh so many levels (visual, audial, emotional, energetic.....)
- create the mood right as you intended
- use more tools to evoke the right emotions
- guide your client by the hand (and sometimes even in subconscious ways)
- break up the usual patterns and create interest and curiosity
- start a conversation by appearing more accessible to your clients
- show your sense of humor and personality
Videos with well planned messaging are an incredibly effective way to build your know-like-trust chain with your dreamiest clients. As such, they will make your conversion enhancing efforts easier (and more fun!).
Okay, what are we talking about?
These are some of the most wanted features in video editing.
In each category, there are numerous possibilities. This can easily get very confusing (especially if you don't have a clear picture of how your own brand communicates visually).
To help you make the most of your video materials, I suggest that you book a short Call with me (it's freeππ) to discuss your current project and how you'd like the videos in it to work.
Some of the possibilities
...you could use to your benefit while we're at it.
Here you'll find just a short listing of the possible editing details you might want to consider.
After our Call, I'll reveal my library to you and you'll get to dive deeper and pick and choose from real-life examples π€©!!
Intros and Outros
First impressions and the last thought. These can be simple and sleek or fancy and elaborate, but should always compliment your subject and materials.
Transitions
It's important to make the video flow. Even when switching between videos or from video to a still image and back again. It can also be a very prominent brand feature.
Music
Audio is crucial in coloring in the mood to videos. It could be music or it could be silence. There might even be sound effects that communicate with the viewer.
Lower Thirds
This refers to the actual placement of additional information on the screen. This can (and should) be used creatively to add extra informational layers to video.
Logo
It shouldn't be just thrown in there. It can move, fade away, appear strategically again and most of all create a lasting impression in the viewers mind.
More info, comments etc. (added image layers)
An excellent place to flaunt your Brand Elements. Add interest, interrupt, comment on the video as it's playing, focus viewers attention... So many ways to use images and elements.
Blur/ block out
Unwanted parts can be visually hidden during the editing phase. There are several options on how this can be achieved.
Video speed adjustments
Make the experience enjoyable. Sometimes it's essential to see the details, but it get boring on normal video speed. So, why not help and speed it up a bit. Sometimes it's the opposite, to actually see the details, it's good to slow the video down.
Highlight with graphics
Another place to show off your Brand Elements! Or maybe you'd like to add emojis, create highlighted areas or bring viewers attention to a certain feature on your film.
Drawn doodles
Hand-drawn features are a nice way to spice up your videos. Could be text, could be an image, as is, or combined with other features, elements and editing hacks.
What will it cost?
As you might have guessed, it depends. It depends on the amount of work it takes to get your project done ππ.
Obviously the first factor in this is the quality of your raw footage. The end result is always better if the raw material is good. Better monetarily and in film quality. So, when you're shooting your video try to get as good a sound quality as possible and avoid bloopers in the middle of shots as best you can. The more tinkering it will take to clean up at the editing phase, the more it will cost. I'd really rather you use your funds in the fun stuff making it more exciting, than slicing your video to hundreds of tiny shreds π.
As I don't really do hourly work, we will need to gain as clear a picture as possible before I get my editing coat on. That's why every project starts with a call so we both get a good understanding of what we're about to embark on. If we decide to move forward with your project together, I'll give you a detailed proposal on what will be done and the expected time it takes, so you can safely make plans forward.
To give some sort of direction on how much, just in general...
Small project
...is usually 1-5 videos with basic editing, no bloopers. At it's simplest, it usually includes intros and outros. Easiest editing is to build those with a still image as the cover in the beginning and at the end. Your choice of music track is usually added on both the intro and the outro (that I usually fade down neatly under the video so that it feels well produced).
If you need help with creating the cover images, that can be provided.
Easy, short projects usually fit quite easily to my schedules. So as soon as I have all the materials/decisions from you, you'll have your video ready very soon.
Small projects start from 97 $.
Mid-level production
...is most often a course or a membership project, that includes 20-40 videos, maximum 5 modules.
If you need help with creating or finding the images/footage needed for the project, I'm happy to help.
The more the videos, the more there usually is variance in the need to clean up the footage. All of these take a bit more planning and possibly require a preCreation phase to the work (depending on what materials you have already at hand. We'll dive deeper into this on the Call ππ).
As soon as I have all the materials/decisions from you, your project will get scheduled in my calendar.
At their simplest, a mid-level productions start from 470 $.
Larger/Highly branded
...projects vary the most and almost in all dimensions.
A single video can have so many effects and "tricks" added that it falls easily in this category.
This could also be a project with several courses or a broad library of content.
This is always a highly customized project, so even to give an estimate of the costs, I'll need quite a lot of detailed information first. Hence the Call first ππ₯°...
If a project has a lot of materials and work needed, I usually divide it into phases to make it easier for you to follow how we are proceeding with the plan (ie. a project plan is first on my list when we startπ). Big projects require more quality communication to ensure that all flows well. I like to keep my clients informed, so you'll get regular updates of the progress made on the project.
In general the workflow is: As soon as I have all the materials/decisions from you for a certain phase, your project will get scheduled in my calendar. If possible, I try my hardest to make the phases follow each other seamlessly. All this will be taken into account right from the beginning.
Let's make your life a little bit easier..
...and those videos ready to upload where they belongπ€©!!
It all starts wit us chatting a bit more about all you need and all that's possible.
